Bagel Chips

So many things to be thankful for in the North East. Real Bagels is #1. Any which way you get them, they are delicious. *Unless of course you got them in the freezer isle. Boo on you. But not everyone lives tri-state NYC.

 Bagel Chips
5 whole bagels, any variety, day old & stale
a Stick of salted butter
Garlic Powder
Sea Salt in a grinder

Slice bagels as thin as you can get them using a serrated knife. Unless you happen to have a deli slicer. By all means that is way more efficient. Try to cut the bagels in a uniform thickness. If your bagel is too fresh it will just crumble. Try putting it in the fridge for a while, it may be easier to slice.
Melt your butter in a pie plate. Dip each slice quickly and coat evenly without drenching. If you have a pastry brush, use this instead.  Line chips on a tinfoiled pan. Sprinkle with garlic powder then grind sea salt over top at your own discretion. I like a lot of garlic so try a small batch and season to your taste.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 325 or until chips are a nice dark brown throughout.
